Individualized or group coaching?

Both! Training plans will be individualized to suit each athlete’s needs with a modular training program. For each of swim, bike, and run, 3-5 different training programs are being built to suit any individual’s needs for various ability levels, fitness coming into the program, and available training time respective to each sport. Some workouts will coincide across all plans, such that each week there will be a few workouts that can be done as a group.

What’s included? Everything you need to have a great race!

  • Athlete Questionnaire - form to learn about your experience, ability, equipment, etc.
  • Initial Consult - Facetime or phone call to discuss the Athlete Questionnaire, determine which combinations of the modular program will be best to start with initially, etc.
  • Modular Training Program on Training Peaks - your program in one place where you can upload and review training data, and log comments about each workout.
  • Discussion Board - Facebook group to ask questions about the training, where the answers can be seen by everyone in the group.
  • Benchmark Workouts - workouts used periodically to monitor progress and help identify goals and develop a race plan.
  • Progress Review - adjustment to which modular programs are being used.
  • Race Plans - strategies for great race execution including mental aspects, nutrition and individualized pacing targets.
  • Post Race Review - follow up conversation in person, Facetime, or call to review the details of your race, evaluate your performance and consider ways to improve next time.

In person coaching?

  • Some, however most will be done online through Training Peaks. Additional interaction through Facetime or phone calls, facebook discussion, and google docs.
  • I plan to visit the La Quinta area 2-4 times during the program timeframe to participate in group workouts as well as meet with people individually. I will be there for race week.
  • Dates will be announced for specific weekends for group training that I will attend.

Who is this program good for?

  • First time to experienced triathletes, training for IM70.3 IWLQ.
  • Those looking to try out working with a coach for the first time or simply looking for an affordable structured and guided training plan.
  • Those who do not require weekly (or daily) interaction with their coach.

Who is this program not good for?

  • Those who want a high level of interaction… frequent conversations, lots of questions, detailed and frequent workout review/analysis, persistent issues that need a high level of attention to address, etc.

If this describes you, please inquire about my standard coaching.
